Public Art Sculpture
Commissioned by Thomas Homes Developments Ltd
A landmark redevelopment in rural Oxfordshire formed a beautiful setting for one of Victoria Westaway’s abstract sculptures. Cholsey Meadows is set within over 100 acres of Registered Park and Garden and has access to over a mile-long stretch of the River Thames.
Working with the residents of this new development; Victoria created a series of sculptural designs and experiments for this public art commission which reflected the natural beauty of the location. The chosen work ‘Sphere by the Thames’ was created in response to the harvest mouse and water vole habitats along the river bank and neighbouring fields around Cholsey Marsh.
