The Jurassic Coast is and always has been a pivotal source of inspiration for Victoria, Lyme Regis is a perfect destination to observe and absorb the areas rich history, literature and landscape. On many occasions Victoria has walked it's cliffs, it's under cliffs and once undertook to pay homage to the towns heritage by tracing the salt path from Sherborne to the 'superb fragment of folk art', the iconic Cobb, on foot back in 2003.
'.. a superb fragment of folk art. Primitive yet complex, elephantine but delicate; as full of subtle curves and volumes as a Henry Moore or a Michelangelo; and pure, clean, salt, a paragon of mass' - about The Cobb, John Fowles
Sculptures are selected each year from established and upcoming artists, the artworks are chosen to represent a cross-section of the visual arts encompassing different materials and styles. The organisers aim to enhance the natural beauty of the gardens and wider landscape through providing a creative experience for visitors. The majority of sculptures on display are available for sale, see sculpture trail website for details. Langmoor and Lister gardens are open all year round with the Sculpture Trail showing between April and September. - get directions on Google Maps..
