It starts with a freeform sketch, the welder is fired up to create a steel armature, then Vik weaves with either wire or willow to create bespoke artworks which mellow into the landscape.

The willow sculptures can last for years if looked after and treated with an annual coating of linseed oil and turpentine, this maintains the strength and lustre of the willow or withies, her wire sculpture can be galvanised, powder coated or left to age where the colour evolves from a cool gunmetal grey to a warm russet.
